Pour certains c’est «l’école libre», pour d’autres «Nazareth», mais pour bon nombre de Cozillons et habitants du canton, «l’école des soeurs» reste un moment important de leur vie d’écoliers. Créée le 24 octobre 1865 par l’Abbé Turin et trois religieuses de l’Immaculée Conception dans une aile du château de Sorlut, elle accueille, un an plus tard, 60 enfants dans ce que l’on nommerait aujourd’hui un «jardin d’enfants».

Un terrain route de Talmont est acheté pour y construire l’école actuelle : 66 élèves y seront scolarisés, 32 sont pensionnaires et 75 accueillis au jardin d’enfants.

Le dimanche 27 juin prochain, à 16 h 30, aura lieu à l’école une réunion d’information ouverte à toutes celles et ceux qui, anciens élèves ou personnels, sont intéressés.

L’assemblée générale constitutive de l’amicale des anciens de Nazareth devrait avoir lieu en octobre.

D’ici là, les personnes intéressées peuvent se faire connaître à l’école, mais aussi laisser leurs coordonnées, poser des questions, envoyer des photos ou des documents d’archives à l’adresse e-mail eleves-nazareth@sfr.fr. Source
