Il ne se représente pasIl ne se représente pas.C’est ce qu’il a annoncé officiellement lors de la séance du Conseil municipal du 20 juin dernier.Yves Pérochain ne briguera pas un nouveau mandat de maire.Maire d’Arces-sur-Gironde, vice-président de la Communauté d’agglomération Royan Atlantique (Cara) et président du Syndicat des eaux de Chenac, il a donc décidé de mettre un terme à tous ses mandats d’élu en 2014.Yves Pérochain a été élu pour la première fois en 1995 ; il a été conseiller municipal puis adjoint sous la mandature du maire de l’époque, Jean Riondet.

Parmi les grands travaux réalisés sous sa mandature, Yves Pérochain évoque, entre autres, le rond-point giratoire de la Croix, la création du Sivos (Syndicat intercommunal à vocation scolaire) des écoles, la réalisation du restaurant Le Cottage (propriété de la mairie), des travaux importants dans l’église et dans les écoles, l’aménagement du cimetière.

Le maire avoue qu’il regrettera ce contact avec les administrés qu’il a fortement appréciés, mais continuera de s’investir pleinement dans la vie associative de sa commune.
